Menlo-Atherton High School * Athletics

Meet the team

We are rising seniors and athletes at Menlo-Atherton on a mission to upgrade the athletic facilities and honor our coaches!

We are just getting started with our mission!

Our first goal at $100 Hats is to raise funds for
the Menlo-Atherton High School (M-A) baseball program.

My name is Owen van Loben Sels and I am a rising senior in the class of 2024 at Menlo-Atherton High School. I am a two-sport athlete entering my fourth year playing football and my third year playing baseball at MA. My two primary positions are first and third base, and I occasionally pitch. My goal in working for $100 Hats is to not only gather the funds necessary to reinforce the longevity of our baseball program for rising generations, but to bolster the lively baseball community that Menlo-Atherton is known for. Additionally, I also hope to provide our school with the best facilities possible. Any and all donations carry significance in putting us steps closer towards our goals.

My name is Thomas Scott and I am an incoming senior at Menlo Atherton. I have played for our baseball team for 3 years and have seen success in all of my seasons. As one of the interns working on $100 hats, I want to raise money to ensure the longevity of our program and give future MA teams the highest quality facilities. I also hope to bring our facilities to the standards set by teams such as Valley Christian and Sacred Heart in order to keep ourselves up to par with our competitors. I hope to help raise enough money to complete these goals and any donation helps to achieve our objective. I look forward to a great season. Go Bears!

Hi my name is Trevor Heinz. I was the catcher for this past year’s Menlo-Atherton Varsity baseball team and am heading into my fourth year playing baseball at Menlo-Atherton. My personal goal with working for $100 Hats is to set up future Menlo-Atherton teams for success. I want Menlo-Atherton to be able to compete and succeed against the best competition in the area and right now we simply do not have the facilities to do so. We saw with Valley Christian this past season at our playoff game just how important it is to have the facilities that allow you to thrive both as an individual and as a team. My hope is that through the support from our community, we can obtain these facilities and allow for future bears to get the same quality in both facilities and coaching that our toughest competitors get.

My name is James Gray, and I am a rising senior at Menlo-Atherton. I am entering my third year of football and fourth year of baseball at MA. On the diamond, I have played third base and the outfield, but I am primarily a relief pitcher. My previous three years on the Bears baseball team have been exciting and successful, but I envision the future of our program being even better. As an intern for $100 Hats, I aim to ensure that future MA students can participate in a strong and prosperous program. I hope we can gather the funds to upgrade our facilities to the same level as our competitors, as this will only increase the potential for every individual ball player. Through these physical upgrades, I also hope to strengthen the Menlo-Atherton community, whether attracting more incoming students to their public high school or increasing the participation of proud MA alumni. Ultimately, any donation will provide endless opportunities for our program and its individuals. Go Bears!
